Nixarn/ whenworld, founded by Niklas Wahrman, is a Digg-like service to let you know about upcoming consumer products.

The idea of eat.fi is easy to tell: find nice restaurants just around you by using your mobile. The webservice for restaurant reviews is very clean and based on google maps. So far there are only Finish cities available.

Did you now that the micro-blogging startup JAIKU founded in 2006 by Petteri Koponen and Jyri Engeström managed to burn 7,5 Mio before being sold to google?

So its maybe that high burn rate that took google to shut down the development of JAIKU and make its code open source instead.

Does that also mean that google sees no future for micro-blogging services in general? Which impact will that have on competitors like twitter, Identi.ca, plurk, pownce and so on?
